Privacy Policy
Thank you for using MPReader. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using the app you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who We Are
MPReader is developed and operated as a personal project. If you have any questions about this policy, you may contact us at xcmp.labs@gmail.com.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address — used to identify your account and send password-reset emails.
- Password — stored securely via Supabase Auth (hashed; we never see the plain-text value).
2.2 Reading Data
To support cloud sync we store:
- Reading progress per chapter (chapter index, scroll position).
- Library metadata you upload (book titles, file references).
The actual EPUB file content is stored locally on your device. We do not upload or store your ebook files on our servers.
2.3 Automatically Collected Data
We do not use analytics SDKs or advertising SDKs. We do not collect device identifiers, location data, or crash reports automatically.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To sync your reading progress across reinstalls or devices.
- To respond to support requests you initiate.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
MPReader uses the following third-party service to operate:
- Supabase — provides our database, authentication, and file storage backend. Data is stored on Supabase-managed infrastructure. See Supabase's Privacy Policy for details.
No other third-party SDKs with data-collection capabilities are included in the app.
5. Data Retention
Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, all associated data (email, reading progress, library metadata) will be permanently deleted within 30 days of the request.
6. Children's Privacy
MPReader is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including HTTPS for all data transmission and hashed password storage via Supabase Auth. No system is 100% secure; please use a strong, unique password for your account.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at xcmp.labs@gmail.com or use the Account Deletion form.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
